The MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) will have its first official Wild Rift tournament in July, according to Riot Games. Rift War will follow a similar format to the Intel Arabian Cup, the region’s largest League of Legends competition.

The Wild Rift tournament will include a seven-month competitive season. There will be two leagues in the tournament, each with a $10,000 prize pool. The competition will end with a final event with a $20,000 prize pool. The tournament will be in partnership with regional esports promoter and production company Calyx.
Participating countries were classified into 2 regions:
- GCC (Gulf Countries) and Iraq
- Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Iraq
- Levant (Countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region) and North Africa
- Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya

The MENA region is growing rapidly as a mobile game market. Riot Games, on the other hand, is focused on developing esports ecosystems in the region for its new games. The company also actively supports VALORANT competitions, which will feed the championship event qualifiers in Europe through Strike Arabia.
