Fnatic, one of the best known esports organizations in the world, became the champion of DreamHack Open November 2021. The team defeated BIG in the Grand Final with a score of 3-0.
BIG played 3 matches to reach the grand finals. They played against GamerLegion (2-1), MAD Lions (2-0), and forZe (2-1).
Fnatic became the finalists by beating Spirit (2-0), ENCE (2-0), and MAD Lions (2-0).
The Grand Final – Fnatic vs BIG!
The first map of the grand finale was Fnatic’s chosen Inferno. Fnatic showed a great performance in the first half and finished with a score of 12-3. They dominated in the second half and won the first map with a score of 16-3. They earned the first point in the grand final series.
The second map of the grand finale was BIG’s chosen Vertigo. BIG had a 3-0 lead in the first rounds of the map. Then Fnatic took the lead with a 5-0 winning streak. At the end of the first half, Fnatic took the lead with a score of 10-5. The second half started off great for BIG. With a 5-0 winning streak, BIG caught up on the score. However, BIG could not continue like this until the end of the map. Thus, Fnatic was able to win the match with a score of 16-12 and the score in the final series came to 2-0.
The third map of the grand finale was Fnatic’s chosen Ancient. The last match was extremely competitive. At the end of the first half, BIG was ahead with a score of 8-7. But in the second half BIG played very badly. Winning consecutive rounds, Fnatic ended the match with a 9-2 winning streak and became the champion.
