ESL Raises $125K to Help Ukraine

ESL Pro League Commissioner Alexander Inglot announced last week that members of the Louvre Agreement will donate $125,000 to help people affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The total amount will be donated to organizations such as UNHCR, MSF, Amnesty International and the Red Cross.

ESL Gaming announced that the funds were raised by the company itself, as well as the 14 teams that were part of the deal. The amount collected was in addition to the private donations of other teams that were previously operating under the umbrella of ESL.

This news comes after ESL Gaming sanctioned Russian teams Gambit and Virtus.pro by removing them from the Pro League. However, the company allowed players from both teams to participate in tournaments under different teams. Virtus.pro players will play as the “Outsiders” in the Pro League. Gambit, on the other hand, has not yet announced the new name that the squad will compete with.
