Valve has announced new instructions for coaches at the PGL Major Stockholm, the biggest CS:GO esports event of the year.
During the PGL Major, coaches will not be able to touch or shout at players except during time-outs. If the coaches break these rules, they will have to leave the area.
In the BIG vs MOUZ match, BIG’s coach and BIG’s captain Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz almost got into a fight. After this tension, new restrictions were applied.
Several coaches have taken this subject to social media, including zonic, Vitality’s Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam and Complexity’s Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu. Coaches are not happy with the new restriction. Because they can take four timeouts per map in matches and they do not find this number enough.
Restrictions on coaches at PGL Major Stockholm were not included in previous CS:GO tournaments.
On the other hand, Esports referee Michal Slowinski and ESL professional game director Ulrich Schulze said that coaches from past tournaments have influenced the game. They think that the new restriction will be positive for the players and teams.
