Due to the “escalating conflict in Ukraine, Riot Games and Freaks4U Gaming decided to postpone the third week of their Stage 1: EMEA Challengers games. In order to preserve the “welfare” of its community, Riot has opted to not play this week’s EMEA Challengers games. Six games were scheduled for this week, three per group.
EMEA Challengers has 13 Russian players as well as two Ukrainian players. Five of them players are from Gambit Esports, which also has a Russian management and coach. Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev of Fnatic is a Finnish-Russian.
A revised VCT schedule will be made available as soon as practicable.
