FunPlus Phoenix Leaves CS:GO Esports Scene!

Chinese esports organization FunPlus Phoenix announced on its official Twitter account that they are leaving the professional CS:GO scene. In the statement, they mentioned that remote management is quite difficult. The organization thanked the players for their efforts.

FunPlus Phoenix announced in January 2021 that it had acquired the former GODSENT roster. It has been 10 months since this transfer, and in the process, the team won Snow Sweet Snow #1. They also placed second in DreamHack Open January 2021 Europe and Fantasyexpo EU Champions Fall 2021 – BLAST Premier Qualifier. Afterward, they qualified for tournaments such as FLASHPOINT 3 and Intel Extreme Masters XVI – Fall: Europe.

FunPlus Phoenix said in a statement on its Twitter account:

Today, we’ve made the decision to discontinue our investment in CS:GO division. In the last two years, we have experienced many ups and downs together, and we’ve made a lot of amazing achievements.

However, due to the limitations and difficulties during our remote management, we feel that a change has to be made. We are so grateful to our colleagues, companions and players for their hard works and dedication.

All our members now are available to explore more options in CS:GO esports, and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!

The squad and individual players have not yet made a statement. We’ll see what they decide in the coming days.
