Renegades Withdrawn From ESL Pro League Season 14!

The pandemic, which gained momentum due to the Delta variant, pushes governments to take new decisions. The last of these decisions had a huge effect on the fate of the Australian team Renegades.

In Australia, government travel restrictions caused the team to withdraw from the tournament. Thus, Renegades left their seat in ESL Pro League Season 14. Team forZe, which follows them in the ranking, will take their place.

The rapidly increasing number of cases due to the Delta variant pushed governments to take new measures. The course of the pandemic has also deeply affected organizations with physical participation. In fact, concerns about this situation have been expressed before. Ultimately, Renegades withdrew from ESL Pro League S14, citing the travel ban to Europe imposed in Australia.

Based on this situation, the organizers invited the Russian team forZe, which is ranked 20th in the global ranking, to replace the Australian team. Thus, Andrey “Jerry” Mekhryakov and his team will fight in Group B, which will be held between 21-26 August.

The Australian team had already made a surprise debut by beating OG at IEM Cologne last season. In fact, the team wanted to build on this surprise success and make good use of the ESL Pro League chances. However, the government’s pandemic decision has put them in serious trouble.

With Renegades relinquishing their seat to forZe, Group B that will compete in ESL Pro League Season 14 is as follows:

  • G2
  • Virtus.pro
  • Complexity
  • OG
  • forZe
  • Sinners
