Riot reveals competitive ruling for G2 and Movistar Riders

G2 Esports and Movistar Riders have been found in breach of rule 7.2.11 of the Global Competition Policy, which covers “Unauthorized Communications” in two official Riot decisions.

G2 Esports was invited to compete in the year’s first VCT Stage 1 closed qualifier. Daniil “pipsoN” Mesheryakov, the team’s coach, was seen “talking beyond the permitted Tactical and Technical” pauses during their first encounter against Team Vitality. Riot’s research revealed that this was a “isolated event for celebratory purposes,” with no competitive advantage. As a result, G2 has only received an official warning and will not face any consequences.

A second competing ruling on the same regulation was given minutes later. Movistar Riders’ coach Lucas “LRojo” Rojo was caught “offering written tactical instructions to Movistar Riders while their match against Rix.GG Thunder was in process” during Stage 1: Challengers 2 open qualification. Movistar Riders will get a three-point punishment in the points tally of the VRL Spain: Rising to which they have been invited as a result of this verdict, which is equivalent to a one-match defeat.
