Our Interview With Fnatic Valorant Player Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev

During EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals, Fnatic managed to win 2-0 against Gambit Esports. After the match, we made an interview with Fnatic Valorant player Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev.

First of all, congratulations, you are the second team to go to Iceland. Any thoughts on this?

Derke: I am kind of tired because I played in a few qualifiers. In my previous team CrowCrowd, I played at CIS Main Event. Then I got the invitation from Fnatic. It was kind of like a roller coaster for me. In the end, it all worked out for us. When we got our bracket, we were super confident.

You managed to beat Gambit Esports. What can you say about Gambit Esports? What do you think were their mistakes?

Derke: It was mostly individual mistakes like when players over-peeked and missed critical shots. Of course, we read them so hard because our coach “mini” did the hard work and showed us what they liked to do. We read them like a book and knew what they were going to do and where they would end up being. We just hit our shots.

Tomorrow for the finals, you will face against Team Liquid. What are your thoughts on this?

Derke: We already won a game against Liquid. I think this is going to be a great re-match. After our last game with them, they changed their tactics. It is going to be fun, seeing what will happen tomorrow. In my opinion, they got stronger. I still want to win against them, 2 times in a row.

You made a big comeback on the BIND map. How did you manage to do that?

Derke: When we started on CT side, we started reading them. We always knew what they were doing. We played together, cleared our comms, started talking more to each other and hit our shots. It was so fast. We were confident. We also never lost BIND with this line-up.
