Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Team Spirit team with a letter published on the official website of Russian state. Putin praised Team Spirit’s performance throughout the tournament and said that he was proud of this championship.

Congratulations on your well-deserved victory at The International-2021 – the Dota-2 World Championship. For the first time in history, the Russian team of the Team Spirit club won this prestigious competition. Well done!

The International 10 tournament featured the world’s best Dota 2 teams such as PSG LGD, Team Secret, and Invictus Gaming. But Team Spirit showed the world that they were the best of the tournament and they became the champion.
The Team Spirit roster includes both Russian and Ukrainian players.

The Russian Ministry of Sports said that Team Spirit’s championship is the result of their discipline and hard work since 2016. It was also announced that after Team Spirit’s championship, the Russian Ministry of Sports would invest in esports.
